Leather Dog Collar
Order by 2pm today and it leaves the bench Friday 4 September.
- 3.5mm vegetable-tanned full-grain hide, tanned in Tuscany over six weeks
- Sand-cast solid brass buckle, D-ring and keeper — never plated
- Edges bevelled, sanded and burnished with beeswax by hand
- Saddle-stitched with waxed linen thread that will not unravel if cut
One hide, one collar
Cut from a single length so there is no join to weaken and no seam to rub.
Solid brass throughout
Cast, not plated. It will not rust, and it grows warmer in colour with handling.
Engraved at the bench
Your dog's name cut by hand into brass, riveted flush so it never jingles.

Four days at the bench
Nothing here is stamped out. A Windsor passes through one pair of hands from the moment the hide is chosen to the moment it is boxed.
- 1Choosing the hide We work the back of the hide only, where the fibre is tightest.
- 2Cutting and skiving One length, tapered by hand so the buckle end sits flat.
- 3Burnishing the edges Bevelled, sanded through four grits, then rubbed with beeswax.
- 4Setting the brass Buckle, keeper and D-ring saddle-stitched and riveted closed.
Our favourite pairings
The Windsor advantage
Same hide. Different fastening.
The Windsor in its other configurations — cut from the same vegetable-tanned back, finished the same way.
